Forget Beauty Samples: Dessert Subscription Boxes are in

"Woman in pink pajamas in bed, with fresh brownies: the joy of a dessert subscription box."

Forget Beauty Samples: Dessert Subscription Boxes are in The subscription box  If you are subscribed to at least one subscription box, be honest right now. How many teeny, tiny, sample-sized bottles of lotion do you currently have in your bathroom drawer? For a while, subscription boxes were all about discovering new products. We signed up for beauty boxes, scent boxes, and even sock boxes. It felt like Christmas every month, until you couldn’t find where to store those products anymore. We realized that while getting a package is always fun, finding space for more stuff isn’t. Vancouverites are shifting in the right direction. We are moving away from accumulating things and moving toward curating moments. The era of clutter is finally going away, and the era of the “experience subscription box” has arrived. And honestly? We think it’s about time. Why consumable experiences are better than material goods.  There is a specific kind of freedom in a treat that you can enjoy completely and then… it’s gone. No packaging to store, no plastic accumulating dust, just a moment of pure joy.  A consumable subscription box is the ultimate form of minimalism. It takes up zero space in your home, but it will take up a lot of space in your heart.    When you subscribe to a dessert service, you aren’t buying a product; you are buying a ritual. You are purchasing a moment of pause in your week, a moment to be present. It’s the difference between buying a candle you’ll never light and buying a warm brownie that forces you to sit down, slow down, and savour the moment. How the Sunday Cozy Club subscription works. We keep it simple because Sundays difficulty level should be minus 10.  Unlike those meal kits that arrive in a giant subscription box full of ice packs on a Tuesday when you aren’t even home, Sunday Cozy Club is designed for the specific rhythm of a lazy Sunday. 1. You join the club: Choose your flavour before throughout the week. 2. We bake: On Sunday morning, while you are sleeping in, we are in the kitchen. 3. We deliver: We bring freshly baked goods straight to your door. The most important rule? We don’t do pickup. The whole point of the club is that you stay warm in the comfort of your home, embracing the hygge mindset. You don’t have to put on “outside clothes” or go out in the rain. We come to you.  The convenience of “Set it and forget it” treats.    Decision fatigue is real. By the time Sunday rolls around, you’ve made hundreds of choices throughout the week, what to wear, what to email, what to cook for dinner.   A subscription is a gift to your future self. It’s the relief of waking up on a grey, rainy Vancouver morning and realizing, “It’s today, it’s today, sweet treats are coming today” It turns a regular Sunday into an event you look forward to all week. You don’t have to lift a finger; you just have to listen for the doorbell. Gifting a subscription.  We all have that one friend who is impossible to shop for because they “don’t need anything.” A Sunday Cozy Club subscription is the perfect solution.   Instead of sending flowers that wilt or a gift card that gets lost in a wallet, you are sending them a consistent reminder that you care. It’s a hug in the form of a cookie, delivered week after week. It’s perfect for new parents who need a break, someone studying for exams, or anyone who just deserves a little extra sweetness in their life. Ready to upgrade your Sunday routine? Stop filling your drawers with samples and start filling your Sundays with joy. [Click here to see the Sunday Cozy Club menu] and secure your spot for next week’s delivery. Trust us, your future self will thank you.

How to Master the Art of Hygge: Create Your Sanctuary at Home

"Warmly lit living room with paper lanterns and a Christmas tree: the perfect hygge atmosphere."

What is Hygge and why do Vancouverites need it? The concept of Hygge is new to me. I have spent more than one winter in Vancouver and just now I’ve heard of hygge. As a immigrant I feel like surviving the winter sometimes requires a strategy. We didn’t invent the concept of Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga), but we definitely perfected the need for it. The concept of Hygge originated in Denmark, it roughly translates to the mood of being cozy and comfortable achieve through  simple pleasures, good company and a warm atmosphere. It’s not just a word; it’s a mindset. In a city where the sky is grey for months and months, and the rain is a constant companion, Hygge becomes the difference between “enduring” the rainy season and actually falling in love with it. Setting the scene the Hygge way. Rule number one of Hygge: Turn off the Big Light.  You know which one, that aggressive overhead light that hurts your eyes in the morning. It has to be turned off immediately.  To create a true sanctuary worthy of your Sundays, you need to think soft, warm lights coming from lamps, the flicker of candles (real or fake, we don’t judge), and the glow of a fireplace if you’re lucky enough to have one. Next, focus on texture. If you aren’t wearing something with an elastic waistband, you aren’t doing it right.  Layer your sofa with chunky blankets, comfy pillows, and anything that feels like a hug. The goal is to make your living room look like a cloud that you can sink into and never leave. The role of comfort food in the Hygge lifestyle. Let’s be very clear: you cannot Hygge with a green juice. Hygge is about being kind to yourself, and that includes what you eat. It’s about indulgence and soul warming foods. It’s your favourite flavours, creamy soups, and yes, dessert. The Danish consume about 18 pounds of sweets per person per year, and they are consistently ranked as some of the happiest people on earth. We think there’s a correlation there. Comfort food grounds us; it signals to our bodies that we are safe, warm, and taken care of. Creating a Sunday ritual with warm pastries and hot drinks. The peak of Hygge is the Sunday ritual. It’s that sacred time when the week hasn’t started yet, and the weekend isn’t quite over.  Imagine this: The rain is tapping against the glass. You have a steaming mug of coffee or herbal tea in your hand. And then, the doorbell rings. It’s your Sunday Cozy Club delivery.  There is nothing more Hygge than the smell of fresh baking filling your home without you having to dirty a single mixing bowl. Breaking into a warm brownie while curled up in your fort is the ultimate act of self-care. It transforms a regular Sunday morning into a core memory. The ultimate way to make it a ritual is a subscription box from Sunday Cozy Club. Slowing down: Disconnecting to reconnect.  We live in a city that loves to hustle. We hike, we spin, we work, we network. But Hygge asks us to stop. To truly master this art, you have to disconnect. Put the phone in the other room. Close the laptop. Stop doom-scrolling and start engaging with the present moment. Read a book (real paper pages!), talk to your partner, play a board game, or simply sit and watch the rain fall. It feels rebellious to do nothing in a world that wants you to do everything, and that is exactly why it feels so good. Ready to try the true relaxation that Hygge brings home? We can help!  [Click here to order your Sunday Cozy Club box] and let us deliver the warmth, sweetness, and comfort you need to start loving the cold rainy days.

5 Cozy Rainy Day Activities in Vancouver: Stay at Home Edition

"Woman with red nails peeking out from under a cozy white duvet"

It’s hard to find rainy day activities in Vancouver sometimes, but it’s important to find rainy day activities as half of the year we have rainy days. Vancouver is a lovely city. It’s easy to love being here on the sunny days, but the truth is, Vancouver has many rainy days. It’s not for nothing that the city gets its infamous nickname “Raincouver.” As Vancouverites, it is our duty to learn to find joy in those rainy days, even more, thrive in the rainy days. How to embrace the “Raincouver” lifestyle indoors This may be controversial but rainy days are actually the best days, even more if it’s on a Sunday and if you say no, you’re doing rainy Sundays wrong.  We already know Vancouver has a rep for being gloomy and giving us rainy days at least for half of the year, and it’s true. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the rainy days. Instead of letting the weather decide our mood, we believe these rainy days are an invitation to indulge in confort. We’ve compiled our favourite mood-boosters that will transform grey, rainy Sundays into the most relaxing and loved day of the week. The best part? There’s absolutely no need to leave your house.   Movie marathons A cozy Sunday is the perfect day to either catch up on that list of must-watch movies (that keeps getting bigger) or, go back to the classic comfort watch. Either way, blankets, hot chocolate and pjs are mandatory. But you can’t have a proper marathon without snacks.   If you keep scrolling through Netflix, apple tv, and all streaming services without finding anything you feel like watching, try our latest obsessions:  Severance (appleTV): my personal favourite at the moment. Pluribus (appleTV): my current watch. (I’ve just finished episode 1, but honestly so good).   Yellowstone (Netflix): sooo much drama.  Gossip Girl (Netflix): the classic of classics.   Tip for the two shows above: start them without knowing what they’re about. Order in: Since you’ve already decided on the movie, this is the perfect solution for your current snack situation. Just as the name suggests, Sunday Cozy Club is the ideal treat for Sundays at home.  Our whole concept is you not leaving the comfort of your bed during this designated rest days. So, we don’t do pick up, only delivery. The brownies are baked to order, so you receive them fresh out of the oven. Warm and Perfect. These are the gooiest brownies that you’ve ever dreamed of. And they’ll be at your door before you know it. Pro tip: Sunday Cozy Club has a subscription box that in our opinion is the way to go. You can forget about scheduling your dessert box each week, but still enjoy your sweet treat right on schedule.  Escape reality into a good book  Now that you’ve binge watched and satisfied the sweet craving, it’s the moment to turn the screens off. If you are like me, you have at least 5 books in your nightstand waiting for their turn. This Sunday is the perfect moment to grab one of those and finally start it. Escape reality or learn something new, your choice.      A great read for this week: Verity Dedicate time to Self care I know you’ve been running the whole week, rushing while showering or while doing your skincare routine. Well, today is Sunday, so that means truly enjoying those moments and make them as luxurious as you want.  Doing extra little things will elevate the experience. Think of using eucalyptus drops for your shower, it makes it feel like a sauna. Light up a candle while you do your skincare routine. Use your Gua Sha, a face mask and do your nails. This rainy day is perfect for this acts of self-love, and will make you feel amazing and taken care of, both inside and out. Plan your week ahead Now that you’ve relaxed and recharged, its a great moment to organize your goals and tasks for the week ahead. Writing lists and knowing how the week is looking can be a good way to feel less anxious about Monday. It makes you feel more in control. The joy of doing absolutely nothing. At the end of the day, the best part of a rainy Vancouver Sunday is the permission to stop. In a city that is always moving, the rain is your valid excuse to cancel plans, stay in your pjs, and simply be. Whether you checked off everything on this list or you just napped on the couch with a brownie, you did it right. Embrace the JOMO (Joy of Missing Out), let the sound of the rain be your soundtrack, and remember, life can wait. Make sure your next Sunday is the coziest one yet. Click here to pre-order your Sunday Cozy Club box and have warm, fresh brownies waiting for you at the end of the week.
